Many say that homeschooled students lack social skills which does not allow them to function in the real world, which is highly untrue. Students who are homeschooled will not learn the when to use cos and tan on their calculator, or how to calculate the electronegativity of an atom but will learn about topics that will benefit their future. Homeschooled students have the opportunity to learn how to do household activities they will need to know how to do when they depart for college such as cooking, cleaning, etc. and have the time to do it compared to public students who have very little time for such activity. Homeschooled students have the time to be taught how to pay bills, and portion money in order to make sure they have enough to pay monthly bills. Because a homeschooling schedule is so flexible, homeschooled students of age have the opportunity to go out for any job because their school schedule can be worked around any type of work schedule. Homeschooling has many factors that will benefit a student’s future more than degrade it such as teaching them real life skills such as paying bills, and allowing them the time to be hired on at a real job in which they can be very flexible for. Every child is different and individually talent in certain areas. Some students pick up material quickly on their own and problem solve themselves, and some children must have than one-on-one time where they can visually learn how to complete a task. These two different personalities are only a few of many, Homeschooling allows students to go at their own pace. After all, forcing a student to proceed at a faster pace will not help a student learn material or retain an aspect of it. It will only frustrate the student and lead to other factors such as giving up, depression, and more detrimental conclusions.
