Astrology attempts to explain the role of celestial bodies and their qualities to create a synthesis, thus allowing astrologists to present a complete picture of people and their potential. Planets’ qualities consist of the signs, and elements which are fire, air, water, and earth. The primary claim being made by believers of astrology is that mankind is affected not only by the traits we inherit and the environment in which we are raised, but also by the condition of our solar system in the moment that an individual is born. The sun, the moon and the eight planets are considered to be basic life-forces, meaning that they are viewed as tools to live by as well as the basis of our very substance.
Every planet revolves around the sun in an anticlockwise direction. Still, astrology views the planets as seen from earth, which makes it seem as though some planets are moving backwards. This occurs when an outer, slow-moving planet is caught up with and passing by the earth. Thus, when the planets are in retrograde motion and are apparently moving in reverse, the astrological position is marked with an R. Although retrograde motion is an assumption made by believers, their community somewhat debates whether it is of significance or not.

The Ancient Greek astronomers played an integral part in the construction of modern astronomy and our current understanding of our solar system. They were far from the first ancient astronomers; most of their work was built upon pre-existing knowledge from the Babylonians and Egyptians. However, what distinguishes the Ancient Greek philosophers from their predecessors was their attempt to not only observe the night sky but also to understand it. The Greek astronomers theorised the workings of different aspects of the solar system in order to both explain how it worked and to predict future movements.…

The four planets that make up the terrestrial planets are commonly known to us as Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars (Kay, 2013, p. 216). The reason that terrestrial planets are grouped separately from the rest of the solar system is because they are all structured very similarly and all have surfaces most like that of the planet Earth. Another aspect that separates these four planets from all others is the fact that they are all located the closest to the Sun. Terrestrial planets can be easily identified in the solar system because they are much smaller in size compared to the planets around them. Scientists have discovered that there are four main processes that shape the terrestrial planets.…
