One reason i feel they are not overpaid is they had earned to be there they had earned to be playing on that field. Also the better you are the more the teams are going to want to pay for you to be on their team. I also know that athletes had injuries that can cost up to $70,000. Like Paul George when he snapped his leg is basketball that costed approximately $65,000 dollars for surgery. One example is Tom Brady he is a 5 time super bowl champ quarterback.…

There is much debate over whether collegiate student-athletes should be compensated for their work at their respective universities. Some individuals believe that student-athletes should be paid because, like most college students, they do not have a lot of money. Many also believe that student-athletes should not be paid because they are getting to attend an institute of higher learning at a lesser price. Collegiate student-athletes should not be paid not only because they are already attending college at no cost while being able to earn money for themselves, but student- athletes also receive some benefits that are unavailable to the average college student. Individuals who argue that student athletes should be paid do not take into consideration that the athletes are already being compensated for their talents.…

I've always wondered why entertainers and athletes get paid more than doctors, lawyers, military personnel, etc. I disagree, I think that people who actually make an impact on our country should get a higher salary than people who just entertain us. I think it is unfair for military personnel and doctors to get paid only 30 to 60 thousand a year while actors and actresses get paid 300 thousand a year. I will explain a bit more in the next few paragraphs. The first reason I disagree is because the people that keep us safe and make sure we are healthy are paid very little while actors, singers, etc get a bigger annual salary just to act in a movie or sing one song.…

There are TV shows that everyone watches religiously, and movie stars and actors that we adore. Acting and being able to bring a character to life is a talent, but is it more of a talent than performing life saving operations like surgeons do? I don't think so.…

There are many hard working people in the world that make less than eighty-thousand dollars a year. Yet, an artist who releases an album for the first time in their life makes millions. I guess it is safe to say I disagree with the fact that someone that is a professional athlete that sits on the bench makes more than a woman who has been working for 30+ years. It is really not fair when you think about it in detail. Especially, when there are wonderful, hardworking people who make below minimum wage.…

Professional athletes, in my opinion, are overpaid to play a sport for a living. The pay varies depending on which sports an athlete participate in and their compensation might also vary based on their performance. They can earn a lot of money comparing to an individual with a real meaningful career who attended school and earned a degree. Regular occupation requires a certification, degree, or schooling which is not necessary for the sports industry. Athletes are typically under a contract and they are not always playing sports throughout the year.…
