The Lion King An archetype is a typical character, an action or a situation that seems to represent such universal patterns of human nature (http://literarydevices.net/archetype/). Swiss Psychologist, Carl Jung says that archetypes are symbols of character that every human understands because they are passed on from generation to generation. Many movies and books have archetypes but one that really stood out was one of Walt Disney’s Animated Classics, The Lion King. The Lion King is the come of age story of young lion cub, Simba, trying to follow in his father, the king, Mufasa’s pawprints.
