The Apostles Creed is a declaration of one persons’ individual faith. The Apostles Creed begins with “I believe in God… and in Jesus Christ.” This Apostles Creed states that God is the one creator and Jesus is his son. Along with that important statement it tells the story of Jesus such as explaining for example; his birth, the crucifixion, his death, and as well as his resurrection. The creed extends in more detail and mentions the judgement after death and as well as the afterlife. These main points are all key components of Christians base their main belief and faith on. The Apostles’ Creed is mostly and mainly focused on the idea of what a person devotes …show more content…
It is the closest to human realty, and gives us the clearest view of the truth…” This statement right away shows theology as the main focus within this reading. The definition of theology, as stated and defined in the Felker-Jones textbook, is the study of God and how He affects how we live as person’ individually. Throughout his thoughts, Barth proves the idea that although theology is a key and crucial part to the Church, it is not only just used for pastors. He add another thought that theology is not only just a topic for professors and higher major teachers. He expresses that any one of us Christians can and have the ability to become a theologian. As a business management major this thought is equivalent or almost equal to saying business information is not just limited to a branch such as marketing but it is also used for other branches such as management. In this reading Lossky states his thesis as, “ it is necessary to renounce both sense and all the workings of reason… in order to be able to attain in perfect ignorance to union with Him who transcends all being and all knowledge.” This statement proves that God’s greatness is above all other beings. The Felker-Jones textbook is very similar to Lossky’s thought and idea by this statement, “God is unprovable, transcendent, and unutterable.” I absolutely agree with the idea that God is a mystery as well as very unknown and the fact that he is greater as well as higher than all other beings, even though I do not agree completely with Losskys’ tone within this reading. Lossky expresses that, “He is absolutely incomprehensible” and that there has been a lot of different evidence to prove God’s existence and as well he it is sufficient enough to be able to whole heartily embrace God. As a Christian and God believer myself, I think that that statement is what our faith and belief is truly about we must find a way of comprehending God in his entirety and all that he is about, or at least trying our absolute hardest to be more understanding and knowing
