Apollo 11 Moon Landing, Conspiracy Theory Debunked

It has been at least 46 years since mankind first stepped onto the moon. This event is considered one of the most important accomplishments that humanity has ever done. However, at this point some people still believe that such an event did not happen, and it was all just massive propaganda used by the United States in order to bankrupt the Soviet Union at the time. This idea about the Apollo mission being fake seems illogical. My perspective about this is that the U.S actually did land on the moon. Those who do not believe may want to reconsider their view towards this issue. This paper, will present evidence supporting the statement of why I believe that the moon landings did occur and try to discredit any fake information presented in the …show more content…
Many theorists have argued that this video clearly contains clues to prove the fakery of the mission. In the article “Apollo 11 Moon Landing, Conspiracy Theory Debunked,” written by Richard Holts, he provides numerous evidence of why he believes that the moon landings were a hoax. One particular reason that he provides, is the fact that in the video the American flag is waving and this seems really odd because there is no wind on the moon. At first this argument does make a good point stating that there is no wind in space for the flag to move back and forth. However, if there is no wind in space to move an object, there is also no wind to stop it. “The Great Moon Hoax”, is an article written by NASA, which states that “not every waving flag needs a breeze—at least not in space. When astronauts were planting the flagpole, they rotated back and forth to better penetrate the lunar soil”(Moon hoax). To put this into perspective, scientists say that in space anything can move with a simple push. That being said, when the astronauts stack the flag on the moon`s surface, it was logical that it will move like if it was on

One of the most remarkable feats of space exploration was the landing of a man on the Moon. On July 16, 1969, NASA launched its famous Saturn V rocket into orbit for a journey across the void of space to Earth’s only natural satellite. A little over a hundred hours after launch, it accomplished what many people considered impossible just a few years ago—a man from Earth walked on the lunar surface. The crew collected rock samples and performed numerous experiments, in the process greatly expanding the databases of knowledge on the Moon…

Fifty-six hours into NASA’s third attempt to land on the moon, Houston radioed the spacecraft with a seemingly-innocent request. Following NASA’s instructions, the astronauts turned on the hydrogen and oxygen stirring fans in order to obtain more accurate readings. Two minutes later, an oxygen tank exploded. Electrical power and the altimeter readings began to fluctuate wildly. Communications were briefly lost.…

One of the biggest rumors is that it is totally fake because in one of the pictures, there is no stars in the sky. There are so many rumors that they can’t explain all of them. But then again, Apollo 11 was the first moon landing. So thanks to Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldrin.…

The Space Race was a competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for the greatest achievements in space exploration. But on July 16, 1969, the US sent mission Apollo 11 into space, and they were the first to land and step foot on the moon. The US couldn't have faked this, but others argue otherwise. In my opinion, the US moon landing was completely real and would be hard to fake, and there are many deductions to prove so.…

The year is 1961 and the U.S. is six years deep in a space race with the Soviet Union to show off to each other who has the best air and space capabilities. President Kennedy gives a speech saying that we will go to the moon “not because it is easy, but because it is hard” (Engle). Less than a decade later, on July 20th, 1969 at 20:17:40 UTC, the Apollo 13 mission put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon (“Theories”). Ever since that day the people have doubted the fact that we ever put people on the moon. An opinion poll found six percent of American believed the U.S. did not go to the moon, with it jumping to 20% after Fox released the 2001 documentary: Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?…

The Apollo 11 mission is credited for not only landing a man on the moon, but also for collecting the first samples from another planetary body (SNASM). Through the research, many theories were proven to either be true or false. Prior to the moon landing, scientists had many questions concerning the moon’s surface and even the possibility of life on the moon. Before the moon landing , the idea of life on the moon was widely accepted. Apollo 11, however proved that idea wrong.…

Although the NASA moon landing video was fraught with poor informational execution, it very effectively employed the Gish Gallup technique which caused more sway towards their side of the argument. The video used multiple pieces of questionable information and even presented itself poorly in the beginning. The beginning of the video made it seem as though the narrator was there to disprove the conspiracy theories, when later on he made it more apparent that he supported them and attempted to make them seem more likely. The video itself used multiple pieces of evidence that could have been easily tampered with such as all the photos they brought forward or the interview piece they had with Allen Bean. The interview video they had with, former astronaut, Allen Bean is faulty due to…

In June of 2009, NASA launched a spacecraft to the moon that was unmanned. The spacecrafts are supposed to reveal if there is ice or water underneath the surface of the moon. It would be revealed by the twin impacts of the Lunar Crater Observation and its Sensing Satellite. To collect this information, the crafts are supposed to crash into the moon at a speed of 6,000 mph. Nasa expects "plumes of moon dust — perhaps full of ice — (to soar) 6.2 miles high above the moon's Cabeus crater."…

I had always been fascinated by modern mysteries and conspiracy theories, but before this class, I had no clue what to accept and how to analyze the information that I was presented to me. I chose the topic of the Moon Landing, because it enabled me to take a second look at the conspiracy theory through a new lens of experience. To understand where this idea of a hoax originates, we need to understand what was going on before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Starting in the 1950s, America was in a cold war with Soviet Russia, which was less of a physical battle and more of a challenge of who had a better structured government. It was a challenge of superiority that eventually led to the space race in 1955.…

Conspiracy Theory Essay The conspiracy that I decided to do is back on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong becoming the first man to walk on the moon was actually a hoax set up by NASA. In photographs, it looks to be seen that the American flag is blowing in the breeze even though there is no atmosphere along with the shadows do not match up. Where Apollo 11 landed, there also is no crater, there are too many light sources and the Van Allen radiation belt should have cooked the astronauts, unexplained objects, slow motion walking, and the hidden cables, lack of starts the “c” rock and the backdrop photo. Lots of people believe that the moon landing never happened and that it was the US government asset to their victory over Russia in…

For example, if the commercial airliners were flown off grid, someone not “involved” would have noticed it immediately. The “decoys” could not have been carrying missiles, as any missile launched would’ve clearly left the building. As pseudoscientists, conspirators choose to not look at the evidence.…

As our government was the first to put a man on the moon and return him to earth many do believe the conspiracy that the moon landing was fake and that the government since has been trying to disprove that conspiracy but there are many reasons to believe that; because it says at first America wanted to be the first to put a man in space but they got beat by the Russians, and since then, since they wanted to the greatest space achievement, their new mission was to put a man on the moon and so, because they didn’t have the technology back then, they would go as far as fake the mission by only going public when they supposedly already landed on the moon; when others were listening to the take-off NASA had put a tape-machine on the shuttle and when the astronauts were asked questions about their mission they avoided answering with specific…

On September 12, 1962, president john F Kennedy delivered his “why we chose to go to the moon” speech at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The occasion of the speech was to address to the American people the importance of returning to space and being the first nation to place a man on the surface of the moon. Kennedy chose this time to deliver his speech because we were currently at the height of the cold war and the United States was beginning to lose the space and technological race against the Russian nation. Therefore Kennedy appeared at Rice University where he delivered his speech to a crowd that consisted of scientists, professors, students, and the general American people. The context that shaped Kennedys’ speech was the importance of mankind to achieve the near impossible feat of landing a human being on the surface of the moon and the profound impact that this accomplishment would have on the future of the human race.…
