The cartoon is an image of a machine performing house cleaning work like making the bed, dusting, vacuuming, and emptying the trash. The quote reads, “anti-immigration nation: hotels funds robots to replace migrant housekeeper.” The issue being addressed is that if all immigrants were deported machines would replace their physical labor. Americans do not want to work these jobs, due to the labor requirement and low wages. This is ironic because Americans complain that immigrants are “taking our jobs” yet Americans choose not to employ in jobs that most immigrants occupy.
