Thus, before we can demand more penalties for behavioral offenses, we need to enforce the one’s we have, to see if they need revision. Then, we can adjust as deemed necessary. Thus, in practicality, it is not solely the staff or administration of this campus to enforce these conduct rules.…

Effective teachers can establish a well-managed classroom and empower students through the evidence-based practices of positive behavior support using scientific and artistic methods. Such evidence-based classroom practices as compiled in the Effective Classroom PBS Plan include creating a classroom community, maximizing structure and predictability, posting and teaching expectations, and using a continuum of strategies to acknowledge appropriate or inappropriate behavior some of which may be proactive or reactive. Teachers who are not empowering the students are likely engaged in practices that are ineffective resulting in the opposite effect of disempowerment. Professional practices should be frequently evaluated to determine if actions…

In Operant Conditioning some factual points that stood out to me were two-forms of positive and negative reinforcement and punishment. With the use of positive and negative reinforcement to increase or decrease a behavior could be rewarding in molding behaviors in most cases. With the use of operant conditioning, this could also be a great tool to use outside of the classroom. (Positive reinforcement) If a Childs (Behavior) is good during class (Consequence) a parent could praise them on it and treat them out, etc., for such good behavior at school and then (future behavior) the child would continue their progress of behaving in class.…

The following Antecedent-Behavior-Consequences (ABC) Chart has been prepared for Jackson K. Direct observation was done during his Integrated Algebra 1A class to complete the ABC chart. The purpose was to identify “environmental and contextual variables that support challenging behavior” (Chandler and Dahlquist, 70). There are some consequences that are often related to appropriate and challenging behaviors, some desirable and others not. Unfortunately, oftentimes students that engage in challenging behaviors are removed from the learning environment. This is not helpful because the function of this behavior is avoidance and so the behavior is successful from the student’s perspective.…
