A total of 18 articles related to previous studies were utilized for the current research, with all studies referenced occurring after the year 2000. Family-school partnership studies implicated for the article were limited to the last 15 years with the purpose of summarizing the most current, available research.

A general consensus of the 18 studies used suggests development and implementation of intervention programs focusing on enhancing family-school partnerships, establishing collaborative partnerships between teachers and parents, and implementation of literacy programs in the rural setting, placing emphasis on academic preparedness and lifelong
