Annotated Bibliography

Life happens in a blink of an eye, and mine and my daughter’s did just that the last day of 2015. It only takes that one second to change everything you know and love. Making others aware of these numbers, and hearing real stories from teens to teens could promote greater awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Studies have shown that we are losing our youth today from accidents that could have been avoided.

This article discusses how adolescents are wearing seatbelts and even fewer are driving after drinking nearly one third of all high school students’ text while behind the wheel. Teens Adolescent are the largest group of distracted drivers. 11 % of all fatal auto accidents involving teen driver’s number one wood concluded that they were distracted at the time sentence of the crash. A driver’s device driver’s attention and reaction, response, which are required for safe driving, makes texting impossible.

This was based on the results of a study subject conducted as a classroom activity with high school students and the data collected illustrated the effects of texting and the distraction beguilement it causes. The students in the study cogitation were asked to perform multiple tasks, labor while texting, but were not able to successfully perform these tasks while writing a text. This article is very helpful in showing the growing problem among teens and how easy it is to get into a crash because of this

    Everyone already knows that distracted driving is very risky, but Virginia Tech proved just how risky it can be. They used radars, sensors, and cameras to collect data from 3,500 drivers over a three-year period and documented 1,600 crashes and 905 severe crashes. From observing video evidence they found that the most common distracted methods that led to a crash were using a cell phone, reading or writing, reaching for an object, using vehicle technology, driving while highly emotional, fatigue, and interacting with an adult or teen passenger.
