Rather than using animals to predict how a human will respond to a new medicine due to the fact that animals’ organ system is different from humans. There are facts that show that animals are different in many ways to humans and sometimes animals can react different to the toxicity of chemicals than humans. Helen Martson head of Humane Research has written, “ There are far too unknown variables that cannot all be accounted for” (36). Animal testing is not the most reliable source. Many things in medicine could be different if in-vitro testing was used more often.Many researchers and your everyday people would argue that animal testing is ethical and reliable source. However, they are not looking at the bigger picture of how many animals arebeing put through suffering, stress, and are being killed. Their animal rights are being taken away, which are protected by law. Secondly, animal testing in unreliable. They respond different to viruses and diseases as well as to treatment. Lastly, there are better ways to test medicine and products that require animal testing. There have been new advance developments done.
