Internal conflict makes people do things that they would not normally do or say, possibly causing more problems than what would have originally happened. Angela is found out no not be a virgin. The twins, demanding to know who it was who dishonored her, get an answer that it was Santiago. "Angela Vicario was protecting someone who really loved her and she had chosen Santiago Nasar's name because she thought her brothers brothers would never dare go up against him. (Marquez 90)" Angela wanted to protect the one who really loves her. Knowing that her brothers will chase down whoever she says, that someone being Santiago. All of what happened is so the man who truly loved her would be safe. She thought that her brothers would never kill Santiago.
