Basic Duties Anesthesiologists are responsible for selecting the proper medication for pain relief during surgery, childbirth, or for chronic pain management (i.e. cancer), and then administering that medication safely, generally intravenously. The Anesthesiologist must also monitor the patient’s health while the medications are in the bloodstream, as well as when the medication is exiting the body. Dermatologists are essentially medical doctors that recognize, diagnose, prevent and treat skin, nail, and hair disorders, such as psoriasis, acne, and eczema. Their job entails doing multitude of diagnostic techniques, such as biopsies and x-rays. Dermatologists also use numerous equipment when searching for external and internal abnormalities on a daily basis.
Working Conditions Anesthesiologists can work in hospitals, clinics and pain treatment centers. In the operating room, an anesthesiologist works as part of a team, which includes nurses and surgeons.
