Ancient Greece Legacy is knowledge of information that is handed down from one generation to another without written instructions. A legacy is a tradition inherited. A gift from the past. The Greece way of life have greatly impacted the Western World. Greek have influence our lives in several ways such as law, literature, Philosophy, sculptures and architecture. The law in Ancient Greece had no court system at first making it impossible to prosecute anyone for a criminal offense. Since there was no court system there was no justice served unless you acted on your own. Later on the official law were recognized. The concept of trial by a jury of peers. The architecture is a design of building created by art that was influenced by Greeks and passed down. The Greek have three main orders of Architectural Doric, Ionic and Corinthian each one plays a very important part in creating Greek Architectural. The Doric is the oldest of the three. The patterns on the building are simple not making the building extremely decorative. The second is the Ionic. The Ionic is taller and thinner and at the top it’s decorated in patterns. The Corinthian is similar to Ionic, but more dramatic with the decoration. Corinthian usually has leaves and floral patterns making it more noticeable. A temple was the most common building you would come across in ancient Greece. A temple could vary in size some could be small other larger it just depended on the amount of people who needed it for religious purposes. The Greeks important legacy in modern Western World will continue to inspire many people some of the building that where build many years ago still stand today, because they where built so
