The term ‘Medial’ refers to describing something towards or in the mid line of the body. In anatomical diagrams the midline would be a line drawn down the centre of the head down to between the legs and feet. For example the Medial ligament in the knee joint is on the inside of the joint as it is near the middle of the body.
