The current promotional programs of Walibi Holland aim at teenagers, trying to attract them with the right way of using language. This can be found back within the slogans of the theme park, which is used in all of their promotional activities. It uses words that stress the park’s wild and crazy experiences, which must function as the trigger for the target group to visit the park.
The use of online marketing and providing the possibility to buy tickets via an application was a great success for Walibi Holland. Since its launch of the ‘’Hard Gaan’’ campaign, online mobile tickets sales increased enormously with 305% (MediaScience, 2015). The theme park even uses the popular application Snapchat (almost 2 million users in The Netherlands) to promote its new rollercoaster, providing images and videos, functioning as a preview of the real experience (EmerceMarketing, 2015).
