Benjamin Franklin was a well known man. Franklin is well known because of his face on the one hundred dollar bill, which is the biggest bill that we have. Benjamin made his entrance into the world on January 17, 1706. He was born in the town of Boston, in what was then known as the Massachusetts Bay Colony. His father was Josiah Franklin, who was an English-born soap and candle maker. Franklin was remarkably intelligent and learned to read at an early age. Despite his success at the Boston Latin School, he stopped at the age of ten in order to have a full time job at his father’s candle and soap shop. Franklin died of a sickly condition called Pleurisy. The condition is caused by the swelling of the lung and chest linings. It is a complication of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia. Pneumonia is a bad condition ,even today, that no one wants to get because it can lead to being very ill and also death. . I have a personal connection with this sickness because I had it when I was little and I had to take breathing treatments. In the past, the doctors did not know how to treat this illness. If he would have been able to know what we know today even though he was in his old age, he could have lived. Even though he died at the age 84, he was well remembered by many. People around the world want to have the money with his face all over it, but they have no background on why his face was placed on the hundred dollar bill. Benjamin was chosen and placed on this bill because he is mainly known for forging for the Declaration of Independence. He played a big role in our lives so they could be the way that they are today. He was placed on the hundred dollar bill instead of the others because the hundred is the most valuable and we valued him a lot. Benjamin Franklin was the most important founding father that we have and yet to this day we think of him not in that way but by the way that we see him on our bills.
