Course Outcome: 1. Analyze the audience, purpose, and context of technical communication projects, including cultural and ethical considerations Throughout the course of the semester, the course objectives were reached and produced an increase in my ability to write valuable technical communication documents. The major projects that contributed to the achievement reached within each objective were the job application, memo proposal, instruction sets, formal proposal, and presentations. The audience, purpose, and context of technical communication projects were evaluated through cultural and ethical considerations. The audiences for all of the assignments over the semester varied from managers and CEOs to students and instructors. For my job …show more content…
The challenge I faced when creating my job application was how to word my experience and education to explain my skills, while also remaining short and concise. I was able to address this challenge by using tips on organization by my instructor to form a straightforward and understandable job application. In the memo proposal and formal proposal, the challenge most encountered was how to properly construct my paragraphs in order to present the most important information in balance to the supportive material. However, through improvement in my style of writing and use of diction, I was able to form paragraphs in a compelling manner. The instruction sets challenged me to use words and sentence structure that was easy to understand to any audience. By learning how to adequately use language in a transparent way, I was able to create documents that were applicable to an assortment of audiences. During our group presentations, the biggest challenge was efficient communication between our group members. We learned that language can often be misunderstood through technology and how important it is to write clearly so that misinterpretations can be avoided. For collaboration, our group used a combination of email, Word documents, PowerPoint, discussion boards, and text messaging to communicate. These technologies intertwined to create a successful organized discussion space.
