She was obedient to GOD by obeying Naomi. She showed her willingness to work in the fields. She gleans in Boaz’s fields not knowing that he was Elimelech’s kindred... We see Boaz as good business man; man of wealth, kind hearted and treated his workers well. When he finds out that Ruth was a Moabitess daughter-in-law came from Moab with Naomi, he tells Ruth to glean only in his fields, and whenever she is thirsty to drink from their vessels and also in lunch time to come and sit with them while eating ( Israelites never fellowship with strangers). He also instructs his young men working in his fields not to touch her, and to let her glean even among the sheaves. Boaz in allowing her to glean in his fields is fulfilling his duty as a Naomi’s kinsman. Gleaning in the field was new to Ruth but she was a willing worker. Naomi was dependent on Ruth to provide for both of them. Ruth was obedient to GOD, not only in obeying Naomi, but she was also obedient to Boaz when he told her to glean in his fields. God was faithful to His children, when Ruth was obedient He provided kinsman redeemer in Boaz to continue the lineage of
