Per the characteristics and requirements dictated by the Combined Arms Center, the STE systems must be easy to use, customizable, available anywhere we train, interoperable with Allies systems, easily maintained by the Soldier, and must keep pace with the everchanging technological environment.9 As with most military requests, the goal is perfection, but the results will likely be adequate. The Signal Regiment will be heavily depended on to develop and test the systems to field them to all units needed and insure proper training at the Soldier level. In the current information for the STE, it will cut down on required manpower across echelons by incorporating Artificial Intelligence which will adapt training based on lessons learned and the level of understanding of the units. As systems push more into cloud computing and AI, there will be an increased demand for Signal Soldiers as networking and IT demands rise significantly. Manning will shift from vehicle drivers to network maintainers for the same reason that a civilian vehicle mechanic must have a detailed understanding of computer systems. As the Military shifts from manned to autonomous vehicles, the training for the Soldiers will shift and put a higher demand on the Signal Regiment for either cross training or increased
