Who fired the shot that started the revolutionary war? The war, as we all know, was the American Revolution and Great Britain fighting each other. Although, many would argue that the war truly started on the outskirts of the town Lexington, where a standoff took place. On the road going into Lexington, two groups of armed men stood across from each other, the british and the americans. One of the sides fired off a shot, and to this day it's not clear where the shot had originated from. After that the British rained down gunpowder into the American troops, they all fell dead and the Redcoats pushed forward.
