Analysis: The Poison Dart Frogs

Dart’s and Arrow’s. Most people do not know how the poison dart or arrow frog got its name. They are some of the most poisonous amphibians in the world the most deadly being the golden poison dart frog. Adaptation and The Poison Dart Frog’s characteristics has allowed it to survive in the jungle for many years.
They have adapted to jump from place to place with ease. The reason they jump so far is because of their tendons are being stretched, to the point where they release and snap like a rubber band. This is what launches them forward. Another thing that they have adapted to is their poison to help protect them.
Their poison is highly toxic. The most toxic poison dart frog is the golden poison dart frog. The frog has enough poison to kill 10 grown men. Scientists say the frogs poison is as deadly as a gun. It's because they get their poison from what they eat.

They croak and fight for territory. Some frogs even have a wave to attract females. Once they have gained territory they make a buzzing sound to attract females. The sound they make attracts females. They are so adapted through evolution that their eyes are now so specialized.
Surprisingly their eyes are better used for day then night. This is surprising because their eyes are so big, and big eyes are usually for night. Their eyes are so big that they can easily recognize predators. Scientists can recognize them because of their big eyes. Now this bring me to the types and size of frogs.
There are more than 200 different types of poison dart frogs. All of these frog are not found in the same area instead all around Central and South America. Some examples are strawberry poison dart frog, the golden poison dart frog, and the red poison dart frog. Poison dart frogs can range in size from 3 to 5 inches.
