As an adult, even, the shows the children were once on can still haunt them. Fame too early can lead to a low self-esteem and the need to be accepted by others, as well as the urge to stay interesting and important. As they grow up, this low self-esteem can lead to “anxiety, stress, loneliness, and increased likelihood of depression,” writes the CMHC UT Counseling and Mental Health Center Division of Student Affairs. This need for attention can cause people to act strangely, possibly getting into drugs or acting unpredictably. This can cause them to threaten people or even vandalize buildings, similar to what happened to Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, or Justin Beiber. These shocking reactions can cause negative effects later on in their adult lives, possibly causing serious problems.
