The first one that I chose to evaluate is the camera work between all of the scenes. In all of these scenes the shot scales typically are not farther than a medium shot. I believe that the director chose to do this to make things seem more intimate between the people and the technology talking. Throughout the movie Theodore treats Samantha like a real person and almost forgets she's not real. While watching this movie I even forgot she wasn’t a real person at times. I believe little things like the shot scale can help make her seem like a person. Also the height of the camera is almost always straight on with the people in each scene. I believe they did this to make the viewer connect with the movie. While if they would of angled the camera either higher or lower than the character it would make us feel less in the scene. Also the depth of field are very similar between the three scenes. All of the scenes that I chose have a relatively shallow focus. This adds to the effect of Theodore and Samantha in love. It shows that the two of them, or three of them in the last scene are the main only important characters in these scenes. In all of these scenes there are clear examples of reverse cuts. This is when the camera is on a character looking at something or someone then the camera points to what the character is looking at. This shows how Theodore treats Samantha like a real human being. An example of this is at the carnival when he's walking he stares at the phone, like a person and the camera cuts to the device looking back at him, again like it is
