Analysis Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

I chose to advertise ‘the chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ as a book store named ‘Page Turner’. I chose this because I have a passion for reading books and was interested in making an advertisement as a bookstore trying to sell a featured book. My target audience is people regularly read books and travel to book stores. The advertisement would be published on the front counter at the bookstore so when people come to buy one of the books they will see ‘fiction of the month’ and of its eye-catching images, it is likely someone would pick it up and may even buy the book.
The size of the pamphlet is A4 and would sit in a tray in front of the front register. There are four pictures in the advertisement, the logo and a transparent lion on top of a rock roaring on the bottom of the page, this is relevant as the picture is of a main character in the book. The slogan ‘The best bookstore around! Guaranteed page turners’ follows the same persuasion from the first example, that being the font and size of it. The language is quite persuasive, although it doesn’t have rhythm it still really persuasive due to the string of words stated. An example of this is “Guaranteed page turners”, it implies that every book sold at the store is of good quality and immersive.
The third and last example of persuasive language is the statement at the bottom of the advertisement, which says “This fantastical book for only $19.99!” This is a classic form of persuasive advertising, as the pricing is making it sound like people need to pay less money than people will actually pay. Another persuasive technique in the statement is the size and font of the statement making it stand out from the rest of the text.
In conclusion, my advertisement is quite effective in the advertising the chosen product due to the persuasive techniques that are present in the

Writing a persuasive essay can be done in various ways. In Libby Hill’s essay “Calvin and Hobbes: The Voice of the Lonely Child”, she uses methods such as emotional appeal and testimony to connect to her readers. In Melissa Rubin’s essay, “Advertisements R Us”, she uses a very different approach as to how she persuades her reader. Rubin concentrates on logical appeal and historical facts to prove her claims. Both of these essays present reasonable arguments in different techniques as to what their claims are, how they display their evidence, and how they present the evidence to their readers, but Rubin’s essay is more persuasive because she presents a logical approach to argue her evidence.…

The 1985 American Express card commercial starring the famous author Stephen King is particularly effective in its cleverness to full audiences. The ad relies strongly on the fallacy of appeal to authority and the scare tactic of the unknown. Urgency and fear have been created ingeniously in its tone and imagery. Although the ad does strongly use this fallacy and an underlined emotion of fear to persuade its audience, the result is enormously effective.…
