Title Lynae Donald was born in Newton, Iowa and while it's far from her favorite city, she still considers it her home. She remains close to her family and looks up to them with high regard. As a child she spent quite a bit of time with her grandmother who she says taught her many things. The examples given by members of her family may have affected the way she tries to be an example for others and encourage them--like in her motivational speech "You Can Do It". She plans to go to college at Kirkwood for two years and then decide on a major and where to continue her education after that. This is somewhat similar to the main character in her novel, The Fish Under the Sea, about a small fish trying to find an opportunity to
