Every painting or piece of art work has a center of interest which means some major part of the work catches the eye. In this specific piece of work, I believe that there are three different canters of interest simply because it is broken up into three different scenes of the whole story. The first part that catches my eye is god with the white flag in his hand this is a part that stands out because of the light colors. God is also the main topic of the story that is being expressed through the picture. The second center of interest is found within the middle of the painting which displays the Virgin Mary as she stands out in her bright blue dress. The color of the dress really sticks out to me in the middle part of this piece as it is the part where the saint is presenting her own son. The last center of interest is the part where St. Michael the archangel vanquishes a group of heretics. This part sticks out because of the coloring that they display the brown warmer colors stick out when it comes to displaying the bodies at the end of the …show more content…
In the first section Jesus Christ is considered the central figure for Christianity. He is holding a flag and kneeling in front of the cross. This part is most important because it symbolizes his death. The next section in the middle you see a woman who is Christ mother she is the virgin Mary. She has a bright blue dress on and is looking up at Jesus as she gestures to St. Helena who is the to left of her. The saint then presents her own son who is the emperor of Constantine. This is what gives the title its name and is the subject of this art work. In the lowest section, St. Michael the archangel vanquishes a group of heretics and topples Lucifer at his throne. This religious and emotional work is an educational and expression revealing piece. Anyone could take something important about this piece just by looking at

In Helena Maria Viramontes’ Under the Feet of Jesus, she uses selection of detail, figurative language and tone in order to describe how Estrella’s character develops over time, and through learning new things. The author uses selection of detail in order to describe Estrella’s development as a character. How she does so is by first stating that she “hated when things were kept from her.” She clearly does not like things that she cannot understand, she feels hatred towards the tool box because she does not understand or know what the tools in there are called or what they’re used for, “the funny shaped objects, seemed as confusing and foreign as the alphabet she could not decipher.”…

The painter Parmigianino, in his art piece, Madonna with the long neck, captures a fused narrative that comes from another art piece, “Vision of Saint Jerome”. The piece portrays the virgin Mary holding a young baby Christ. The piece is an oil painting that measures 7 by 4 feet, and was created between the years of 1534 through 1540. Unfortunately the piece was never finished because the artist became deceased.…

The medium used (oil) allowed the painter to make very realistic shades and colors. The figures and landscape in the painting also looked very fluid and real due to the use of the oil paint. The painting contains the Virgin Mary, the baby Jesus and his second cousin St. John the Baptist. The painting foreshadows the death of Christ on the cross. This point is displayed in the action of the painting where St. John is handing Jesus a small cross and Mary is looking upon it knowing what is to…

Although this thesis is still being revised, it states: Dario Fo had political and social triggers that led him down the path to creating a more modern—and revolutionary—giullare storytelling style that is comprehensible to masses around the world. I chose my focus(es) for multiple reasons. The first is that I need to understand why he revised biblical stories and, specifically, “Mary Under the Cross”. I believe if I understand why he chose it politically and socially, I can connect to it as well and create a better final product. Additionally, it is essential that I comprehend how it was revised by Fo and—hopefully—it will be helpful to my work on the scene.…

Because of the title of this work we know that depicted are the Christ child carried by the Virgin Mary with a female saint embracing the child along with Saint John the Baptist as an infant to the right. Titian placed the figures in a pyramidal structure around the Christ Child so that one’s eye focuses on the Christ Child. In addition, although Saint John the Baptist is not physically in contact with the other three figures, his strong exchange glance at the child brings him together. Work seems balanced since the Virgin Mary, the female saint and Saint John the Baptist all look toward the Christ Child. In this painting, Tiziano Vecellio…

Each saint and Biblical character is rendered in such a way as to make a clear connection as to the identity of each one. Often, saints are recognisable solely through the scenes of their martyrdom, as may be seen in St. Sebastian Shot with Arrows (Fol. 16) and Martyrdom of St. Ursula and Her Companions (Fol. 17v), or by the inclusion of the objects by which the martyrdom was completed, whether by saw, club, or lance, such as in The Apostle Jude and the Prophet Daniel (Fol. 7) and The Apostle Thomas and the Prophet Hosea (Fol. 4). The prophets’ identification only requires the ability to read, for there, in their hands, a scroll is placed, bearing the name of the prophet who holds it – Jeramiah (Fol. 2), Joel (Fol. 6), and Daniel (Fol. 7) are just a few examples. Since this manuscript was completed during the dauphin’s early childhood, these adjustments are understandable. Anne herself, a woman who was pious to the point of what has been called ‘religious intolerance,’ was imparting her religious fervor and beliefs upon her son at such a young age that it was likely that even these inscriptions would not have been useful as he was probably still too young to be doing more than learning to…

In the painting, Christ is illuminated by being colored in with very pale colors, but he surrounded by a myriad of colors. Each person depicted in the painting, especially those in the foreground, are each wearing clothes that have different hues, such as the Virgin is wearing blue while the Saint John is wearing red. The colors of each of their clothing are quite intense adding to the energy of the scene. There is also a mix of warm and cool tones throughout the painting, which adds the disorder of the painting. Another important aspect of the painting is the use of color in the middle ground and background.…

Caravaggio’s had great skill are captivating emotions through his figures eyes. It was through Jesus’s eyes that I was drawn into this painting and really took the time to look over the painting thoroughly. Jesus’ eyes pulled me in and opened my own eyes to see the importance of prayer and how when we come to Him in prayer, whether directly or through His mother, we are all unified and equal. The Madonna of the Rosary depicts the importance of the rosary as a gateway to Our Lady and her Son. It shows that prayer unifies everyone and that it is only through prayer and a love of the Lord that this great unification is possible.…
