The first line was written from a short story "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been" by Joyce Carol Oates. This quote from the story explains the two sides of the main character, Connie, how she behaves at home differs from how she behaves elsewhere. While her childish side only appear at home, she transition into an adult elsewhere to strives as mature and attractive suggest that she is unsure of how she see herself and who she want to be.
The second line came from " A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor. This quotation at the end of the story reveals that the Misfit finally understand the grandmother in her final moment, when she facing death. The Misfit realized that if the grandmother would have live her life at gun points,
