Saddam had a lousy childhood. His family was poor and his father abandoned them either shortly before, or soon after his birth on April 28, 1937 in Al-Awja, Iraq. He died December 30 2006. His step-father, Ibrahim Hassan, was abusive and illiterate. He would beat and insult Saddam. While president he fought a war with Iran. During the war he said “Those who fight in God's cause will be victorious.” That war ended with a truce in 1988, on July 20th.
One life changing event that happened to Saddam Hussein is Moving in with his uncle. I think that changed his life because he had a better life and was not abused by his step father. He learned how to read and right, and graduated immediate school. Without this life changing event, he would have probably grew up to have a worse life and not become a leader.
Why I believe Saddam Hussein is important is because he inspires me, because no matter how hard like got for him, he saw a light and followed that light. He did horrible things with that light. How he changed the world is in a bad way. “Saddam Hussein as one of the most brutal dictators of the 20th century.” Some compare him to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. He very much admired Stalin. Saddam left a horrible legacy for crimes against humanity and earned international notoriety for murdering and torturing thousands of his own
