In the article, “Mattress Makers Unroll New Sales Approaches”, Sarah Nassauer argues that the sales of mattresses online rather than in person have increased and hence have increased profit. Nassauer states, “Mattresses were long considered immune to the e-commerce boom,” (Nassauer B1). Traditionally, mattresses were sold in showrooms so that customers can try out the product first. However, now technology has greatly advanced enabling companies to sell mattresses online. Hence, for an individual who does not know how to compress a mattress, the issue could be become complicated. Even though the operation has a flaw, if fixed the business could encounter far greater success. If the industry were to fix this problem, then the industry could be more prosperous and profitable in the future. The easy fix the problem could be to perhaps provide a bigger box for the mattress and detailed instructions on how to compress a mattress. Another way to fix the issue is to create a service that would pick up the mattress from the customers door step if they wanted to return the product. By solving this problem, mattress industries could earn large profits in the coming years and fight their way against any competition. In today’s generation, technology is modernizing at a face pace, so it is the responsibility of the business to modernize with the technology in order survive in the long run. The mattress industry have realized this advancement and has started to adopt to the changes. In the coming years, this business could
