Analysis Of La Vida Robot

I believe the author wrote the book, "La Vida Robot," in order to convey the theme of teamwork. I think the author, Joshua Davis, wants us to learn about what makes an effective/good team. The most profound idea that Lencioni creates is the “One Team, One Score.” The idea is that a cohesive leadership team is less focused on their individual goals, but rather the entire organizations goals. He says, in order to get there, “all members place a higher priority on the team they’re a member of than the team they lead in their departments.” The reason this is so important is because it ensures that everyone will support one another rather than going silo. Perhaps this is the true test of unity in a…

The leading of a team or group is not a simple task but involves real life skills that take time, thinking and commitment. The role of leadership is an essential aspect of an organization since it can determine the difference between success and failure. “Although leaders are gifted in different ways, with different personalities and varying skill sets, all leaders can grow, become more skillful, and become more competent so that they can achieve greater effectiveness” (Ledlow & Coppola, 2014, pp. 10). At times, leadership may seem overwhelming and complicated, but by concentrating on specific fundamentals they will find that they can guide the team with the assurance and competence. In Robots and Minds, William Lycan tries to show that it is feasible that robots can have the same kind of mind that humans do, under the condition that machines are able to have consciousness just like humans. He further expounds this theory by introducing AI, claiming that researchers have already designed machines that can do human-functioning activities (such as reading books, playing chess, etc.) Lycan concludes that all of these actions are considered to be intelligent behavior in human standards. However, Lycan perceives the word “intelligent” as too generalized, and goes to compose his own definition: where intelligence is the ability to provide responses and to be able to adapt to unexpected situations.…

Over spring break I was helping out at a FIRST Robotics competition being hosted at my high school when I ran into my old chemistry teacher from 10th grade. After catching up some he mentioned that some of the students on the current Robotics team were doing an internship with a software company in Horsham roughly fifteen minutes away from my house. The next day I had an email from him with the details of how to get in touch with one of his good friends who happened to be the CFO of the company Aegis Software. Aegis is the leading provider of innovative software solutions to improve speed, control and visibility throughout manufacturing operations. They provide software to over 1700 factory sites across the electronics, medical, automotive,…
