Karen Horney was more focus on woman's views and behavior in psychology than her predecessors. She shares with the subject hostility towards parents and another way of understanding the participant's behavior. Her neurotic theory, the foundation of neurosis, as it ties with behavior of hostility, as this is self-protective mechanism that is part a woman's personality. Horney would say participant's behavior is the result of "basic anxiety caused by interpersonal relationships. (Cherry, 2017)"

She is always trying to dominate others by verbal confrontations. This happens with her parents, if things do not go away. She will try to prove to them that they're in the wrong and she needs things to go her way. If not, then she will threaten with locking herself up in her room, as parents want her to be walking everyday in order to help her with her depression. She shows that same way with her counselor and her teachers. She doesn't like it when the counselor or her teachers comment on her behavior. She expects them just to listen and not comment or she will say they are judgmental. It is problematic behavior with the school and the counselors, but the participant doesn't show that behavior with other friends.
Conclusion
In the end, I believe my personality is very similar to Erikson's stages of personality. I connected how it can be a positive or negative result. As Erikson mention about his theory that everyone has different behavioral growth. I grew out of my self-doubts as I got older, able to continue with other stages, and my role confusion took after the age 18. As for my participant, her hostility behavior are best explain in Adler and Horney's theories.
