The documentary "Inconvenient Truth" presented by the ex-vice president Al Gore argues that the increase of carbon dioxide floating in the atmosphere and other issues is the cause of Global warming. He also mentions that there have also been plenty of environmental changes through time that will continue to harm people and the earth. There are several topics which Al Gore talks about in the documentary, such as greenhouse gasses, climate change, and global warming.
The issue of greenhouse gasses has become a problem to the planet by releasing amounts of gasses into the atmosphere. These greenhouse gasses known as carbon dioxide are released by the use of human activity. These activities are known as burning fossil fuels …show more content…
However, climate changes have taken place as well and have created many distractions to the environment. For example, the ice melts from glaciers of many countries, and water drying up causing droughts in other places. According to Gore, he states that "When there is more carbon dioxide, the temperature gets warmer because it traps more heat from the sun. Therefore, ice starts to melt from the glaciers." Meaning that, glaciers in time will all melt away just leaving dry land. In fact, 40% of people living in Nepal and have consumed from the rivers and spring water that comes down from glaciers will soon have a shortage of water (Gore). Climate changes are controlled if we begin to pay attention to our daily use of greenhouse emissions to help prevent this from happening to our planet. These greenhouse emissions will only keep getting worse if we let ourselves continue making the same mistakes over and over again. I believe that I am responsible for acting in a way that will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. That responsibility is not only to act upon it but to also make other people aware of it as well. Spreading awareness to others is very important because the more people know about this situation the more we can create less greenhouse gas …show more content…
Although, many of us may not believe in the "Inconvenient Truth" of why we are experiencing these environmental issues; causing Global warming. I believe that we can all try our best to do what is best for us and our world. Eventually, sooner or later we will have to face the truth about why these events are happening to
