My Homework Experience

1) One winter afternoon about two years ago, while I was outside in the snow, I spotted a small flock of black-capped chickadees hopping around in some nearby bushes. These birds had lived around my house for as long as I could remember, and although I passed by them every day, I never really took any notice of them. But today, it seemed, was the first time I actually became aware of the beauty and elegance of these creatures. As I sat and watched the chickadees flit from branch to branch with extreme precision, cocking their heads from side to side in search of food, something inside me made me want to get to know them better. This single encounter was what sparked my deep interest in birds.
2) After that day, I made it a regular part of

I've made good progress since I started, but back then, the canvases I used were just too small to contain my imagination, and I messed up every time. So, I painted the walls of my room. Now I know that sounds bad, but my murals actually came out really nice. My family and friends were very impressed with time and patience I had to paint my whole wall. It was quite easy, actually, much easier than regular painting. I just designed a picture of my dream bird and flower garden, than transported my dream onto my walls. I really love the work I've done, so much that it has inspired me to learn more arts and crafts, like how to sculpt birds out of clay, and right now I'm planning on making a bird stepping stone for next spring to put in my garden. Wow, come to think of it, maybe I should've titled this essay "My New Hobbies"!
7) Well, it's been a couple of years now, and I'm still just as enthusiastic about birding as I was then, and I've got countless memories and experiences to prove it! For instance, I remember the time I went boating with my friends on the lake and we saw a family of three bald eagles living in the trees! Or the time I discovered a species of birds new to me called cedar waxwings, a close relative of the bohemian waxwing, in my bushes, when at first I thought they were just juvenile

Often times, people view the same scenario, yet distinguish two very different ideas. John James Audubon and Annie Dillard describe large flocks of birds in flight in their passages. Whether the type of birds they spot are different or their locations are far away, there is unquestionably a difference in opinion. However, Audubon and Dillard may have spotted something similar as well. Audubon uses precise and controlling values by restating the number of birds, direction, and location.…

Birds have captivated writers for centuries; they can fly high through the air, and they can sing melodious tunes in a language incomprehensible to humans. Writers are intrigued by birds because humans are not able to fly or understand the birds’ songs. In “The Darkling Thrush,” by Thomas Hardy, “To A Waterfowl,” by William Cullen Bryant, The Awakening, by Kate Chopin, and “African Morning,” by Langston Hughes, the authors all use birds in a symbolic nature. In literature, birds represent outright freedom and hope; they are able to fly and sing, and they are completely unbound from the restrictions and complications put on by society. Birds are placed in direct contrast from oppressed characters because birds possess the freedom that…

Wednesday Journal: Today, we spent our time at the Audubon Center of the Northwoods in Sandstone, Minnesota. The weather was sunny with splashes of clouds and it felt especially humid. The first part of the day was spent contrasting the prairies we observed yesterday at Sherburne Wildlife Refuge with the newly restored prairie at Audubon. Historically, the new prairie was an old agricultural field; the team removed the old plants, sprayed to remove the plants, burned off the older vegetation and then replanted with specific species. Bur oaks were planted to model the savannah.…

I most relate to the transcendental literature because of what it inspires within me. It is all too easy to get wrapped up in what society expects of you. The transcendentalists writers like Emerson, Thoreau, and Whitman suggest we listen to our inner voice. In “Self Reliance” Emerson advocated for this throughout the essay with statements such as, “ Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.” Your conformity explains nothing.”…

I have dabbled with art ever since I was a toddler. I would draw anywhere I went: school, home, and even at church. It started out as a hobby, but soon, I immersed myself into the world of art by integrating art with medicine. I have always found medical dramas to be particularly intriguing. Developing into this interest, I started writing my own medical journal, where I took notes from a book called Gray’s Anatomy and from the medical dramas I watched.…

In mid October early in the morning the day was crisp and chill. The sun was just burning the morning fog off of the lakes cool waters. The dew on the grass and trees was glistening from the sunlight and the bird were singing their songs of jubilee . The entire woods were peaceful and still, and the sunrise was magnificent. During this moment I realized how beautiful nature is when the outside world is a distant memory, and all we need to do is take advantage of the little things life gives us and never stress the big ones too much.…

Every person in this world has an individual creativity built within them. My individual creativity personally took me a while to uncover, I only recently unearthed my true creativity during my junior year. I express my creativity through makeup, poetry, painting, drawing and redecorating my surroundings such as my room which I like to think of as my sanctuary because it’s the only place I can disconnect myself from everything, focus on myself and reflect on my days. Makeup is my main outlet of expression since that’s the one that’s in the spotlight and is a quote on quote paraded for the public eye to see when used correctly and minimally to enhance ones beauty it makes a person look more presentable and put together. I was inspired to write…
