suggestion of the angry spirits.
* * * Francis lowered his weapon and I stood up with my hands still raised. “I’m sorry” He apologized as he sobbed. “You have every right to be upset with me” I said. “No, it’s not your fault” He said. “None of this ever should have been” He shook his head. “Come on we got to keep going you two” Logan insisted. We followed behind her as the sun started to sweat. The closer we got the farther the coastline seemed in my mind. We had started as a party of ten people with hopes of leaving and now there were just four of us.
Eeriness saturated the gaunt atmosphere, from the stillness of the night air, to the bamboo crackling as it swayed in the wind, to the shadowy silhouettes of the trees erected beyond the

My eyes widened at the sight ahead. Beyond those waves laid freedom. Tess and her followers chanted a spell. The waves spun like a typhoon and other water spirits emerged from within. A fair skinned woman with golden hair stepped forward. Behind her followed Naamah.
A violent current swept over our heads, and we stood in the midst of an underwater kingdom. It resembled the palace I supplanted Naamah in my dream. The witches freed me from the nets. I bolted for my friends across the royal hall as they lay unconscious bound together by ropes. "Long time no see." Naamah said. The other sirens smiled. Two others emerged. Hanging by my hands, shackled to the ceiling, my wedding dress tattered, I feared that I would soon lose too much blood. Tess ripped the blade across my forearm, and I held the scream rising in my throat. "I like to save the face for last. After all there is nothing like a little suspense." She cooed. I flinched as she peeled more of my flesh off my arm. "Bring her blood in a goblet over to me." Naamah instructed as she sat on the throne beside Lilith, Agrat Bat Mahalat, and Eiseth Zenuimim. "Hold still!" Tess demanded as I squirmed. She started to remove another patch of skin. A shape shifter played a flute for them, while another brought food to Tess and the other witches who sat laughing. "All the way to the bone, I'll sever every nerve, and soon your body will be nothing but itty bity pieces. A mere shell, when I'm finished with you." Tess sung, as she carved deeper. "Francis bring me a cup of wine!"
“As you wish, Your Highness” He replied in a submissive tone as he wobbled over to her like a robot handing it to her. Tess pulled the cup to her mouth to
