The reason I stand for the HR 1227 bill, is because I believe that people want marijuana for all of the wrong reasons. Even though this drug is used for health purposes, there are other ways for people to access this drug for other purposes. As a matter of fact, it would actually be easier for certain kinds of people to access this drug, if this bill didn’t get passed. You also need to look at the jurisdiction standpoint. If we allow this law to pass we would potentially stop things from getting confused.…
As an HR specialist there are many complexities to rules and regulations, to assure that employees are treated fairly. The specialist must review both federal and state laws to assure the company stays in compliance with such. “FMLA rules and regulations are not as straight forward as the human resources professional might prefer. Staying up to date on changes in legislation, the need for worker training and also continuing trends in FMLA administration is a key-component for compliance.” (Inc) Going through the quiz, even after reviewing the FMLA, it was not as clear cut as I thought.…

The current guidelines of the United States HIPAA policies are limited for genetics. To better improve this, the HIPAA policies need to resemble the United Kingdom’s laws regarding genetics. According to the General Medical Council (n.d.), in the United Kingdom if a patient refuses to give consent a healthcare professional can release information without their consent. One must care for the patient first, then protect the other person from harm. When releasing genetic information, the person’s identity can not be disclosed.…
Looking at the Fair Labor Standards Act Prior to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) earning enough money to support a family was very hard. At this time, employers could pay their workers whatever they pleased. This resulted in whole families, including the children, working long hours in terrible conditions for barely enough money to survive. Today the FLSA protects workers from employers who only seek to exploit them. It establishes a minimum wage, overtime pay, and equal pay.…
History of the Act. The Women’s Legal Defense Fund in 1984 came up with a draft of the legislation that was later to be the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The legislation was later introduced to the Congress each year from 1984 to 1993 but was repeatedly blocked by entrenched opponents. The Congress finally passed the legislation in 1991 and was passed by the 103rd Congress in 1993 which was the only Congress that had a majority that President Bill Clinton had.…
