Everybody has an identity, it makes them individual and unique, and it defines who you are as a person. This project about my identity showed me what makes me unique. I would have never known how much my friends mean to me or how my identities connect with each other. I have three identities that make me who I am, cultural, personal, and social. A specific quality that covers my cultural identity is being Czechoslovakian. For my personal identity, the biggest part is my personality, being loud and outgoing. This has always been important to me. The last identity, social, is one of the most important to me because it involves my friends. Throughout this project, I learned how vital they really are to my social identity. These …show more content…
They have passed down my religious beliefs, but also my values and morals. I was raised as a Christian and that is important to me, but the morals my family has given me were more influential over my character. The three things my family taught me was to always be kind, be honest (unless it was a Christmas present, then you could hide the truth), and be myself. I have been all three of those things my entire life and I don’t plan on changing them, but when I see someone who is being rude or lying to someone’s face, it bothers me because I was raised not to do that. My family has also influenced my religious beliefs, being a Christian, I go to church and it is a big part of me because it is like my morals. I was raised with it and I rely on God for guidance and certain aspects of my life. My personality doesn’t really impact my beliefs except for that my personality is affected by my morals. My friends have been mostly encouraging and respectful of my beliefs and values, I have never had one friend that excluded me from something because I was Christian. My cultural and social connect, my family has influenced my hobbies which have affected the kinds of friends I find. My cultural and personal are similar, as my personality was influenced by my family’s morals and lessons I was taught by them. Taking pride in being Czech is a part of my personality and was provided by my family. However, they are different as well. My cultural and social identities are different because my cultural is more about Czech Republic and my family immigrating from Czech Republic to the United States. While my social identity is more about my friends and social media. My cultural and personal also have differences, my family’s morals have been passed down to me, but my personal is more about how my hobbies shape me as a person versus my morals. My personal and social have similarities and differences too, some of my friends are chosen by some of the hobbies I do, and I try to look for friends that have the same interest in me. They do have differences, my personal identity is more focused on the hobbies I participate in and social is more about my friends and the social media aspect of it. Aside from this, some of my identities contradict each other, like my social identity. I like social media because I can keep up with friends and family who I can’t talk to and I like posting pictures, but
