Why I choose to write on "Amy"?

Because I like non fiction films and music very much. Her songs and the way to sing them have captivated me long time ago. I found that her story was brought to the screen in a very interesting way.

My personal opinion on this film.

This non fiction film is very unusual in the general landscape of documentary films, since the filmmaker avoid the use of talking heads along the entire work. Instead of them , you will be hear hundred of interviews while the pictures are taken from many home film movies and studio footage. In this way he is creating another dimension of Amy's life. We are witnesses of her talent, good moments and her tragic end too. It is not an easy material when you can identify yourself with

Amy Gumm, the main character of this series, and I have some connections and things that make us similar. Loyalty and being kind to people who deserve and need it are important things to both of us. Throughout the books, Amy has tried to be nice and caring towards many people. ““If Maude is a part of it, I promise, I’ll get her out”” (Paige, 338, Dorothy Must Die) and “I had made a promise to myself that I would help Ollie. Now I had a chance to make good on it” (Paige, 340, Dorothy Must Die) are both quotes that show this kindness.…

In this film, Laura (1944) we are introduced to a group of corrupt and fittingly shady upper-class social order types. The focus is on particular conventions of content, like themes or settings and/or form, including structure and style (Goodykoontz & Jacobs 2014). This film will be critiqued by the author through the lens of the genre theory (AMC, n.d.). The genre theory allows critics to take a short cut to categorize films. The director woks with the time-period and has a vision and that includes the audience he wishes to engage.…

The family’s inability to effectively communicate only propagates their dysfunction. Beth, Calvin, and Conrad Jarrett engage in acts of “silence” and “violence” as a defense…

For this week’s final adaptation we take a look at the film Ex-Machina and it is not one to disappoint. In the completion of the film I was left with an abundance of food for thought on modern day problems concerning humanity, gender, religion, and knowledge. Starting with my overall view of the film I was left with feelings of unease from beginning to end. The general concept of creating a machine whose able to pass as a human is somewhat difficult to grasp when the machine is given human characteristics such as Ava. The reason being for me stems from my belief that humanity is immeasurable and in a society where social constructs dominate in order to classify or categories us all that's a hard pill to swallow.…
