The American Flag Informative Speech

The American flag is seen as one of the largest icons of America still to this day. The American flag we see today consists of thirteen stripes and fifty stars, and it was created in 1777 on June fourteenth. In this version, the thirteen stripes represent the thirteen colonies and the stars represent the fifty states. The colors on the flag also have their own meanings; white stands for innocence, red stands for valor, and blue stands for perseverance. The flag was created by the Continental Congress and first held its significance during the American Revolution. The flag is seen as a real icon due to the values of America it withholds. There are concrete values as well as transitory. The concrete values are the ones that do not change over time, they have and will always remain the same. Transitory values are the values that the American people believe in with meanings that adapt and change over time.
The American flag is the most recognizable symbol of the American government and one of the biggest beliefs of our government is freedom. Freedom in America stands for many things including the right to act, the right to speak, and the right to think freely.
