Prejudice is a main issue that America suffers from. Over 239 years, one would expect major changes in America. Instead, there is only minor and it is taken with baby steps. America was founded July 4, 1776. Within that time there was slavery. Slavery was abolished December 6, 1865. It took 89 years for slavery to end. But even after that African Americans could not just walk around free. There was still segregation which ended in 1964. Which is another 99 years from the time slavery was abolished. Little do most know, we have poverty in America right before in our eyes. There are many homeless people who do not have any money, shelter, clothes, food, and proper hygiene., Sometimes there is a chance that they are old, retire veterans. Americans love to talk about taking benefits away from the poor. How is that a good idea taking away something from someone who does not have anything to begin with? That is very backwards. Instead of taking away we should find ways to improve and help. That seems like a more logical idea if we really wanted to live by our American, Christian
