The running back believes that his problems dropping the ball were more of a mental issue than anything else. Abdullah was almost expecting to fumble the ball and it was evident in the way he played.
He was able to overcome his rookie issues with advice from not only Tomlinson, but Abdullah also spent some time getting to know and learning from former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green and Warrick Dunn, who is Abdullah’s personal favorite running back of all time.
While rehabbing from surgery due to a torn labrum in his shoulder that he played through last year, Abdullah spent some time contemplating on some lessons he learned from stories of another amazing athlete, Muhammad Ali, the former heavy weight boxing champion. The time spent reflecting on the champ helped Abdullah to regain his self-confidence and taught him how to trust himself again after his failures throughout his rookie season.
