I am Alvy Ray Smith. I was born on September 8, 1943 in Texas and I am currently 72 years old. I had a pretty normal childhood, aside from the fact that growing up, I learned animation from a $1.50 how-to-book, which would inspire me to do some things later in life. Although I might not seem interesting, trust me, if it wasn’t for me most of you would have had a much different childhood. How, you must ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I, along with my close friend Edwin Catmull, founded Pixar. Although little to no credit is given to us for our achievements (as a matter of fact, I’m not even mentioned on the Pixar website), I played a major role in creating Pixar.
