Bonjour! Thank you for taking the time to see why I’m so passionate with this unbelievable offer. I am going to travel to two specific regions. First, I will begin my visit in Alsace, the heart of Europe. Alsace lies on the west bank of the river Rhine, between the Rhine and the Vosges mountains. To the north and east it shares a border with Germany; to the south with Switzerland. The region of Alsace is separated into two French departments with the Bas-Rhin in the north of the region, including Strasbourg, and the Haut Rhin located to the south, with Colmar. Historically, the Germans believed that the mountains were the logic of borders while the French assumed that the Rhine River was. While in Alsace I will be staying in Colmar a stunning, unique, and colorful fairytale city. Lastly, I have decided to explore everything that Provence has to give. It is considered to be one of the favorite destinations within France among American tourists. This is due to the coastline and beaches of the Mediterranean, it’s lavender fields, and its love for diversity. Provence is located in the southeast of France on the Mediterranean Sea. It is bounded to the Maritime and Foot Alps to the North, the Mediterranean Sea to the South and Italy to the East. It is divided into six departments the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhone, Var and Vaucluse. In the second century BCE, the Romans began their conquest of the region and called it “Provincia Romana”. Nowadays, throughout Provence you still see numerous historic Roman monuments that have lasted for centuries. These include The Arles amphitheater, the amphitheater of Nimes, and the Pont du Gard.
