Why would I like to be a member of Phi Lambda Sigma?? “Over the past two and a half years, promotion of leadership, networking and personal development have been a huge part of my pharmacy school journey. I have challenged myself with tasks such as attending conferences, organizing events, managing a team and simply by challenging myself to escape the imaginary boundaries of my own cognizance. Each of these voluntary obligations have sharpened my leadership skills and broadened my network.…
To the distinguished women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; it is my esteemed privilege to submit this letter of membership recommendation for Miss Naiya Odom-Smith. She embodies the principles in which your organization was founded, January 13, 1913: Sisterhood, Leadership and Service. Naiya is an active and devoted member of R-E-A-D (Rejuvenating Excellence & Accomplishing Dreams), a community service-based group fostering Christian beliefs, academic excellence and volunteerism. Partnering with American Red Cross as welcoming ambassadors at local blood drives and Sentara Nursing Center as resident companions and activities coordinators, she creatively revolutionizes opportunities to inspire her peers to selflessly give…
My interest for potentially becoming a part of the Psi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is based on the personal and professional development of its members and the social change that results in equality. I view Psi Theta Omega Chapter as a huge advocate for the metropolitan Orlando area when it comes to the community service and its involvement of its educational growth of its young ladies. These are a major focus that has sparked my interest in understanding what this Sorority does as a whole. I have always been an individual that loves serving the community being that I can make a change within someone’s life by helping them grow mentally and physically.…
Members of the National Junior Honor Society must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. I believe that I meet all of these requirements in several ways. To start off, I’ve had academic excellence for numerous years now. To illustrate, I was the only person last year to earn all A’s for the entire year. I do my best and always turn in my work on time.…
I would like to become a National Honor Society (NHS) mentor to give back to a club that helps make the community around us a better place. I believe that I am qualified for this position because I have exemplified the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. Education has always been a priority for me. I am truly interested in what I am learning and how it can apply to the world around us. I have shown Leadership through my Speech and Debate Team.…
It is an honor to be chosen to possibly become a member of the National Honor Society here at Baldwin County High School. This opportunity has opened my eyes and made me realize that my goals are right in front of me. I have many attributes to give to the organization as well as the school as a whole. Among these qualities are my leadership skills, my character, and my ability to provide exceptional service to others. I believe I would be a valuable member of this organization because I have worked hard to be in this position and to get where I am.…
Over the course of my four years of high school, I have participated in clubs and sports where I have learned new things and made memories with friends. I was involved in Key Club, where we donate and volunteer to help the elderly, or people in need. During my time in this club, we donated numerous amount of times to soup kitchens and to people who needed clothes and jackets for the cold weather. I was also involved in National Honor Society. In NHS, we also did volunteer work such as tutoring kids in multiple subjects.…
My only exposure to fraternities were the negative stories in the news channels or stories I heard from the big fraternities at the University of Georgia just an hour away from my hometown. Contrary to the large fraternity social scene at big universities, North Georgia presented a unique Greek life due to the Corps of Cadets and strong NCAA athletics. A majority of the students in the Corps of Cadets and on athletic teams were also part of Greek life. These two organizations assisted in Greek life being a positive experience for the student body and in the local community. I played on the soccer team and would later join a fraternity.…
For the first two years of my highschool career I had done very little with the school. I occasionally volunteered for the spirit week events, such as building a homecoming float. However, at the end of my sophomore year I realized that I could be involved with much more. With this in mind, I decided to run for class president and somehow I had won the election. As a result of this, I began to get more involved with the school.…
Being considered to be a member of the National Honor Society is an immense honor. It is a rewarding feeling to know that my hardwork in school from a young age has paid off. I am a hardworking, honest, and reliable student, and joining NHS would be a wonderful opportunity to grow as ayoung adult and honors student. Organization is a key factor in the development of my leadership skills, as well as in my overall success in life. I enjoy making to-do lists and charts, to remind myself of upcoming tasks.…
A successful person is more than just a good student. I believe that this is the meaning of National Honor Society. In order to be successful I must possess dedication towards scholarship, leadership, character, and service. This dedication not only will be beneficial in my high school career, but also for the rest of my life. One of my teachers once said that everything we do today affects the rest of our lives.…
I want to be an Alpha man because I see them as the epitome of what a man is. Bold, unwavering and headstrong. Being nineteen, which is still considered young and with my youth comes inexperience which is one of my problems and it’s something I know Alpha Phi Alpha will help me with.…
I am interested in membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., because of what Delta represents. To me Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. represents strong, educated black woman that are dedicated to improving their community. When I was a child I always said that I wanted to improve my community. As I grew up I saw how children from impoverished homes were not always exposed or given the opportunity to achieve a better life. That’s when I realized that we have to help our youth in order to see a change in our community.…
The National Honors Society defines what it means to serve the student body as well as the community. As a student athlete in the Sutton school system leadership, service, character and scholarship have impacted my very way of life. Having a persistent attitude is what makes a student shine and as a prospective candidate for NHS I will incorporate this quality into each of the four pillars improving the society as a whole. Three years ago I began the NHS application process though I had little experience in volunteering for the community and lacked the opportunity to develop myself as a leader this changed as my high school career went on. Through athletics and long hours of volunteering with the town's technology department has provided me with numerous opportunities as high school went on.…
