Alpha Phi Alpha was the first fraternity to establish its presence in 1906. The fraternity was founded by The Seven Jewels. The Jewels started this organization because of lack of academic and social achievements. I desire to be an Alpha Man because this will help me reach goals that I have set, also show me the importance of brotherhood, and help me to become a successful African American Male. The fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha is very big on academics. Joining this fraternity will not only help obtain a better grade point average but it will also serve as a guide for to strive higher with academics because this was one of the reasons the fraternity was created to encourage academic excellence.
