The pledge process for Alpha Kappa Psi has been a rollercoaster of emotions from the stress of learning thirteen verbatim quizzes to the excitement of Big-Little Reveal. Still, despite the stress, frustration, and long nights, I would not have changed anything. While difficult to understand completely from the outside, the pledge process impacts each pledge’s life individually and positively. I see this clearly as I prepare to cross the finish line of the ten weeks. I look forward to membership, and how I can use my talents combined with the skills developed throughout the pledge process to benefit Alpha Kappa Psi.
For a freshman, I believe I entered the pledge process with decent professional skills, yet I still see vast improvements. Of course, I have gained greater communication skills through the seventy-two plus interviews and emailing my alumni big and faculty members. The election …show more content…
First and foremost, is my incredible family who is my greatest inspiration in life. I know the pledge process was difficult for them as well, not seeing me as much, but they were by far my biggest supporters. The same goes for my friends. Next, I would like to thank all of membership for their kindness, openness, and commitment to the values of the fraternity. I look forward to getting to know each member better. Thank-you to Natalie Gaynier for being a great master of rituals and being so helpful when making up quizzes. I am beyond grateful to Lindsey Shepherd and Patrick Northcraft, Vice Presidents of Membership. I appreciate them giving their time and resources for the success of the pledge class.
