It’s been a day or two since we’ve left this room. I’m lost and enraptured by the fragility surrounding our isolation. I spend much of my time counting things. I count the slats on your window blinds, I count the clothes scattered on your bedroom floor, I count the scars on your body. I count every different language and color I could learn to love you in.…

The word choice in this scene is very simple, consisting of many feeling words and monosyllabic words. Beth and Doug struggle to communicate their feelings, so they use simplistic words to fill space until they know what they should say. A lot of the time, they repeat words that the other says, in order to wrap their head around what they are hearing. When Doug or Beth explains their feelings, they use more complex words.…

There has been much controversy over the possibility of the existence of alien life. Many people believe the consideration of alien life is just ridiculous, but over the year it has become a much less taboo way of thinking. The new argument would be whether alien life forms have been in contact with humans or not. Many people believe they have, while the majority of the world think that it is completely ludicrous. I fall in the minority who believes there has been contact and there are great reasons why I believe so.…
