Alexander's tactics affected history in its ways of thinking and seeing. After his death, the military legend left behind still continued through other countries and eras. Alexander’s ambitiousness to conquer more land fell short due to his sudden death. ”His death—and the bloody infighting for control that happened afterwards—unraveled the empire he’d fought so hard to create. Without the Renaissance we might not have preserved and appreciated arts, education, and human values like we do today. An influential idea was Humanism, leading to new attitudes towards art, authority religion and ideas which humanists describe as a time “ in which learning, literature, and the arts were reborn after a long, dark Middle Ages.” (Encyclopedia) Humanist were determined after the plague to reform as survivors and they were influenced by the Greece. They saw the ancient world of Rome and Greece, whose literature, learning, and politics they have alway admired, as an honor of high achievement. This decision of exploring changed the art world in history. Another important idea that had a huge impact from humanism was education, the Renaissance directed education that could be innovative in a person's life. “Humanist educators designed teaching methods to prepare well-rounded, liberally educated people. Multiple humanist believed that understanding and conversing about the meaning of literature was more important than memorizing it” (Renaissance Education Between Religion and Politics). Similar to today's Honor and AP classes, the humanistic education system wanted a higher education to be taught and not memorized.
