Alex Prager was born November 1, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. She is an American photographer and film maker;who has been published to many places such as Vogue and placed in art exhibtions. She has gained popular attention since an exhibiton in 2005 and continues to rise. When Alex was was 13, her parents moved to Florida, but she stayed in LA and she pursued acting. Moreover, she spent her teenage years between Florida, LA, Switersland,and Europe. She has traveled Europe over time and has gone back and forth to Switersland selling knives at her grandmother's shop. In addition,she dropped out of highschool and continued to travel even more. Alex had basic jobs throughout her life such as a recepionist at the age of twenty,but she just didn't favor working at normal jobs. Alex's career was sparked at the age of twenty one,after viewing an exhibtion of William Eggleston's work at the Getty Muesum in 1999. Ultimately, after that viewing she went out and bought a Nikon Ng0-S and started taking pictures. She says that when she saw Eggelston's work she knew photography was for her. She started to gain attention after exhibbiting "The Book of Disquiet" and "Polyester" between 2005 - 2007. Then she had an exhhibbtion at the Michael Hoppen Gallery in London in 2008. She was soon noted as emerging talent after an exhibtion in 2010 at the Museum of of Modern Art. Also in 2010, she came out with "The Big Valley Week/Week-end" which was shown in the Yancey Richardson Gallery. In 2012, she released one of her most popular series called Compulsion. Subsequently, she was also reicieved the the Paul Huf award from Foam Fotografiemuesum Amsterdam in 2012. Eventually, Alex was awarded an Emmy Award for the New York Times, for "The Touch of Evil" a film starring celeberties such as Brad Pitt and George
