The main goal is to make this system as user friendly as possible, therefore investing in something costly but feasible now will hopefully pay off in the nearby future. Help and support will not be provided, however, we aim to avoid making this system complicated to use, so hopefully, employees will be able to pick up on it the first time round. In the developing world of technology, it is simply not good enough to do everything by hand, and to rely on humans to do certain tasks. We can increase productivity by allowing the computers to do the majority of the work. Different people will use the system for different things.…

Adding what from the proposed system would give the most efficiency gains-- the workflows, the ability to assign students to mentors, sending information emails more easily, or providing the ability for mentors and students to communicate using a tool that stored everything centrally? - To be blunt, all of the above. I do all that now, with the exception of the workflow, I add reminders to each student’s calendars when I can, but I need more of my “systems” to be in one place. I am using forms on our website in a password protected section, which gets sent to another email account so it doesn’t clutter my own but I have to check it, then I have to check spreadsheets to make sure they are keeping up with RSVPs, their notes, follow ups, and student contacts; I have to check the Note Taking System weekly to ensure they are taking notes when they meet with students as well as what kind of information is being collected and the list goes on. It’s too disjointed and cumbersome for me to keep up with everything this way, which I had never planned to do; I created what I am using now temporality to see what kinds of information and systems might work so I could articulate the system I would need to manage the…

The first alternative is a first come first serve basis. This alternative would be very beneficial to all students who are able to get to school early. With this alternative there would virtually be no cost to the students or the administration. Although these seems like the easiest decision for administration to make I would not recommend this choice. On the matrix this alternative scored a nine.…

Most announcements are regarding faculty meetings or upcoming events are either impromptu or made the morning of over announcements. Gibsland’s previous principal was routine in sending out a memorandum and schedule for the upcoming week’s either on Friday or the upcoming Sunday. After receiving grievances from teachers regarding impromptu meetings, assemblies, or events, the principal has attempted to start sending weekly schedules; however, his frequency in sending out the schedule is inconsistent. Personal Philosophy of the Student Affairs Field Reflecting on my personal college experience and those of my peers, I believe that the field of Student Affairs provides a unique and even essential opportunity to help shape the experience that student’s receive within the university setting. I strongly believe that students gain more from their college experience learning and growing outside of the classroom rather than inside. Self-discovery and personal exploration through extra-curricular activities and interpersonal interactions guide students through their academic careers and develop who they wish to become as an adult facing the “real world.” Student Affairs professionals help to ensure that each student begins their track to self-discovery…
