Loyalty is something people can struggle with. In Anthem, Equality’s loyalty changes throughout the story; in “Prometheus,” Prometheus breaks his loyalty with Zeus and risks his life for the people’s quality of life in his society. In modern-day times, soldiers are loyal to themselves, their team, and their country by not telling secrets even when being tortured. All are examples of how loyalty is portrayed. In Anthem, society expects loyalty between its citizens by having set rules, but the citizens are not loyal to these set of rules, but instead, are loyal to the ones they favor.…

I too, agree with Tom’s course of action. Aviation safety is paramount to mission success; more over, this is statement is underpinned with healthy squadron morale. The modern Air Force preaches that bystander behaviour is unacceptable; consequently, failure to acknowledge these concerns goes against our basic principles of right and wrong as it’s no longer tolerable to accept the status quo and follow the party line. My response to this situation would be to engage my fellow squadron members, both aircrew and maintenance with the purpose of validating the perceptions.…

The media serves as a conduit between the military and the American public. While it is a critical subset of the population, the military represents only roughly 1 percent of the entire U.S. population, which creates a potential contextual gap between the military and civilians. Many civilians today do not know anyone who serves and may feel disconnected because they do not understand the military’s purpose, activities and meaning in their own lives. For them, the media offers their only exposure to military operations. Therefore, the military must communicate to the public via media and reach civilians in order to maintain their confidence and support.…

Perhaps the greatest shock to me when joining the DEL cohort 11 was the military presence, former and current. My Air Force career took me all over the world and were invaluable but was a season. Entering in to a different season and changing industries and specialities I recognize the flaws and defieiences of the military experience, which have been measurable to my professional career. Specifically, the dependencies of protocol, procedures and requirements now appear to me as subordinate experiences to those in my current environment where they routinely are absent…

The United States Army is a forever changing profession striving and constantly trying to improve. Although most changes are good there are many that are not so good for the interest of the Soldiers who have been selected for their military occupational specialty to be phased out or merged into a different specialty. Authoritarian figures are limited to what they can do because they must be able to react quickly. Perpetrators resist, fight, and try to kill anyone in their way in order to avoid police. It is the thought of the officer at that time to decide what is considered right during that time. Each case is different and must be handled according to the situation at hand. An officer might use one tactic and afterwards, realize what could have been done differently.…

I’ve had many positive experiences in my life, but my experience joining the Air Force and completing Basic Training had the greatest impact. I did not take high school seriously, because I signed to join the Air Force in my junior year of high school. Since I knew where I was going, I did not feel the need to apply myself in all my classes. I did just enough to graduate high school. Then September came, the month I left to Basic Military Training.…
